Fox5DC: 3 injured in triple shooting in Southeast DC “Police are investigating after three men were shot in Southeast D.C. The shootings happened in the 3000 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue around 3 a.m. Friday. No suspect information is available at this time.”

Fox5DC: Police: Woman tried to rob 4 DC banks in 1 hour “Police have arrested a 22-year-old Maryland woman for attempting to rob four Washington D.C. banks in a one-hour span. Jessica Williams, of Suitland, has been charged with one count of bank robbery and three counts of attempted bank robbery.”

Fox5DC: Thieves attempt to steal ATM near Nationals Park using stolen U-Haul truck “Police are investigating after would-be thieves unsuccessfully tried to steal an automatic teller machine near Nationals Park using a stolen truck. The incident happened near Half Street and N Street around 4:30 a.m. Friday. A security guard at the stadium heard what he says sounded like four loud explosions. When the guard investigated, he says four suspects ran to a nearby pickup truck and drove off.”

Washington Post: Georgetown bank teller stole $185,000 from homeless customer with garbage bag of cash “A 29-year-old bank teller stole more than $185,000 from a homeless customer who tried to deposit a garbage bag full of cash at a Wells Fargo branch in the upscale Georgetown neighborhood, according to court filings and attorneys in the case.”

NBC Washington: Man Charged With Killing Southeast DC Mother “A man has been charged with killing the mother of three who was found stabbed to death in a Southeast D.C. apartment building on Wednesday. Larry Fearn, 35, of Southeast D.C. was arrested Thursday and charged in the murder of Paula Renee Coles. A neighbor told News4 she found Coles stabbed to death Wednesday morning with her 11-month-old son in her arms.”

Fox5DC: DC woman charged with throwing cup of urine on Metro bus driver fails to appear in court “A warrant has been issued for a D.C. woman charged with throwing a cup filled with urine at a Metrobus driver after officials said she skipped her court date Thursday. Opal Brown, 38, failed to appear or her misdemeanor initial status hearing, court records indicate.”

NBC Washington: Police: Man Pushed Through White House Barrier, Said He Needed to Meet Trump “A man pushed through a security barrier outside the White House on Tuesday and said he needed to meet President Donald Trump, court filings show. Wisam Altameemi, 38, was arrested by the U.S. Secret Service after he ignored warnings from agents to back away from security posts near the south entrance to the complex, officials say.”

NBC Washington: DC Appeals Court Won’t Revisit Ruling That Blocked Gun Law “A federal appeals court in Washington says it won’t reconsider a ruling that blocked a District of Columbia law making it difficult for gun owners to get concealed carry permits in the city. D.C. officials had asked the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit to hear the case as a full court. The court declined in an order Thursday.”

NBC Washington: Hate Symbol Found on Georgetown Campus; 5th Case This Month “Police at Georgetown University say a hateful symbol was drawn on a trash can Tuesday, marking the fifth time offensive graffiti has been found on the campus this month. The cases appear to be related, Georgetown police said.”

Washington Post: March for Racial Justice and March for Black Women will converge in D.C. this weekend “Two marches aimed at highlighting racial injustices — particularly those facing women of color — will converge Saturday on the National Mall. The March for Racial Justice and the March for Black Women will have independent rallies in the nation’s capital, then meet at Lincoln Park in the Capitol Hill neighborhood before marching together to the Justice Department and the Mall.”

NBC Washington: DC Del. Norton Introduces Bill to Remove Statue Honoring Free Mason, Confederate General “D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton promised to propose legislation in Congress that would allow for the removal of a D.C. statue honoring a member of the Free Masons who was also a Confederate General. The statue is the only one in D.C. (outside of Capitol Hill) honoring someone associated with the Confederacy.”
