The shooting occurred about 9:50 p.m. in the 2800 block of 14th Street NE. The victim was identified as Robert Lee Arthur Jr., of Northeast. Police said Arthur was shot several times and died at a hospital. No other details of the shooting were made available.

Fox5DC: Former Tennessee officer arrested near White House with cache of weapons “A former Tennessee police officer was arrested near the White House on Sunday after authorities said he had an arsenal of weapons in his vehicle and stated he had a chip implanted in his head. DC police said an officer suspected 37-year-old Timothy Joseph Bates of Collierville, Tennessee of urinating in public near 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue at about 7:15 a.m. since he had his pants unzipped and Bates’ demanor.”

NBC Washington: Fence Jumper Who Spent 15 Minutes on White House Grounds Gets No Jail Time “A man who jumped the White House fence and went undetected on White House grounds for more than 15 minutes will not spend any time in prison for the offense. A federal judge sentenced Jonathan Tuan Tran, of Milpitas, California, to two years of probation, despite a request from prosecutors to sentence Tran to prison.”
