Fox5DC: DC teen killed defending himself during robbery fatally stabs attacker, police say “A 16-year-old boy who was shot and killed while defending himself during a robbery attempt on a Northeast D.C. street corner fatally wounded his attacker, according to police. Officers say Zaire Kelly was a student at Thurgood Marshall Academy and was walking home from a convenience store near 13th Street and Downing Street Wednesday at about 9:15 p.m. when he was approached by the gunman.”

NBC Washington: Swastika, threat found painted on bathroom stall in Georgetown University dorm “A disturbing discovery was made at Georgetown University Wednesday night when a swastika and a threatening message were found painted on the inside of a stall in a women’s dormitory bathroom. This is the third time in the past few weeks that swastikas have been found in a residence hall at Georgetown. The latest incident happened at the LXR residence hall and comes in the midst of the Jewish holiday of Rosh Hashanah.”

WJLA: DC Councilman wants to make school lunches free for all students “Councilmember Brandon Todd wants to make school lunches free for all students in the District. Todd introduced a bill on Tuesday, at the council’s first legislative meeting. He hopes the Education Committee will have a hearing on the proposal, before the year ends.
