Washington Post: At least 2 shot in Northeast Washington armed robbery “A man entered the store in the 500 block of 42d Street NE at about 1:45 p.m., police said, and once inside, he showed a pistol and indicated that he wanted to rob the business. At least two people in the store resisted and were shot, authorities said.”

NBC Washington: Police: Woman Sexually Assaulted, Man Beaten Near Howard University “D.C. police are trying to find people who sexually assaulted a woman and stole from a man early Friday morning in Northwest. About 2:30 a.m., several people went up to the man and woman while they were walking on the 2800 block of Georgia Avenue NW, police said.”

NBC Washington: 2nd Man Charged in Death of College-Bound 17-Year-Old Struck by Stray Bullet in NE DC “Police have arrested a second man in the death of 17-year-old Jamahri Sydnor, who was struck by a stray bullet on Aug. 10. Robert Moses, 18, of northeast D.C., was arrested early Friday morning and charged with first-degree murder, police sources said.”

Washington Post: Police: Overpass plunge that killed driver was a suicide attempt “An incident that left a driver dead when her vehicle was struck by a person who had plunged from an Interstate 66 overpass Saturday is being investigated as an attempted suicide, Virginia State Police said Sunday.”

Washington Post: Trial of woman charged with fatally beating 3-year-old son begins Monday “Lyles, 28, faces multiple counts of first-degree murder and cruelty to children in the 2014 fatal beating. At the time, Lyles, her three children and her boyfriend lived in a Southeast Washington apartment.”
