Washington Post: Man fatally stabbed in Southeast Saturday “A man was fatally stabbed early Saturday in Southeast Washington, D.C. police said. Another serious stabbing was reported about 11:15 p.m. Saturday, also in Southeast. In the first stabbing, police said Dennis Lee Wise, 51, of Southeast was found dead in the 1800 block of Bruce Place.”
Washington Post: Man shot, killed in SE Washington just before noon “A man was shot and killed Friday morning in Southeast Washington, D.C. police said. They said Tyrone Johnson, 24, was found about 11:15 a.m. in the 2300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue.”

NBC Washington: 2 Arrested for Assaulting DC Police Officer “District of Columbia police say they’ve arrested two men who allegedly fired shots toward two police officers, striking one. Police say 35-year-old William Boyd was arrested on Feb. 22, and 26-year-old Isaac Pinkney was arrested on Thursday. Both have been charged with assault on a police officer while armed.”
Fox5DC: Hate and bias-related crimes in DC up 62 percent “The latest crime statistics released by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser are revealing hate-based threats and assaults in the nation’s capital are way up.”
WUSA9: Police search for man connected to assault on Metro train “Police are searching for a person of interest in connection to an assault on a Metro train near Metro Center on Friday. According to officials, the assault happened on a Blue line train around 8:45 a.m.”

Washington Post: At least 17 residents displaced by fire at rooming house in Northwest Washington “At least 17 residents of a three-story rooming house on New York Avenue in Northwest Washington were displaced after a Friday night fire ripped through the building near North Capitol Street.”
Washington Post: Editor at Kiplinger’s Personal Finance dies after being struck by bicycle “A 65-year-old woman was struck by a bicycle and fatally injured Thursday night in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C. police said. They said Jane Bennett Clark of Takoma Park was hit in a crosswalk about 6:45 p.m. as she stepped off the southwest curb at 13th and I streets NW. The site is across the street from Franklin Square.”
