Washington Post: Third noose in a week found in the District, this time in Southeast “A noose was discovered in the Hillcrest neighborhood of Southeast Washington on Thursday, prompting shock and anger from the mayor and residents still on edge after two other nooses were discovered in the city within the past week.”

Washington Post: Former D.C. elementary teacher pleads guilty to sexually assaulting six students “A former D.C. elementary school teacher on Friday admitted to sexually abusing six of his students between 2015 and 2017, including one boy he lured to a basement to play hide-and-seek.”

WJLA: FBI offers reward in PNC Bank robbery in Northwest DC “A man robbed a PNC Bank in the 800 block of 7th St. NW in DC Thursday afternoon and the FBI is on the case. The man came up to a teller and demanded money. He fled the bank in an unknown direction with an undisclosed amount of money, according to a statement from the FBI.”

Police Update

WJLA: D.C. Police issue statement on security after London attacks “D.C. Police say they are continuing to “monitor the situation” following the attacks in London on Saturday. The attacks left seven victims and three suspects dead and has led to the arrest of 12 people.”

Fox5DC: 10 injured when streetcar collides with Metrobus in DC “Ten people were injured after a streetcar and a a Metrobus collided Friday morning in northeast DC. The incident happened around 11 a.m. near 11th St. NE and H Street NE. It appears the streetcar crashed into the back of the Metrobus. Eight people were onboard the bus at the time of the accident.”

NBC Washington: DC Mayor: City Will Not Tolerate ‘Signs of Hate’ After Noose Discoveries “D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser is calling on District agencies to deal with recent incidents involving nooses in public places in Washington.”
