Washington Post: Man attacked with ax outside Benning Road Metro station “D.C. police officers said they had to use pepper spray to subdue a man who on Friday attacked a man with an ax outside the Benning Road Metro station in Southeast Washington.”

NBC Washington: Woman, Toddler from Northeast DC Are Missing “Michelle J. Manley, 25, and 21-month-old Daisy Manley were last seen in the 1400 block of Holbrook Street, Northeast, on Thursday, June 15, police said. The two were reported missing on Saturday.”

Washington Post: Lobbyist shot at GOP baseball practice is released from hospital “Matt Mika, a Tyson Foods lobbyist critically wounded by gunfire at a GOP baseball practice June 14 in Alexandria, Va., was released Friday from George Washington University Hospital.”

Washington Post: Rep. Steve Scalise in fair condition after baseball field shooting, hospital says “Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.), the House majority whip, was in fair condition Friday, a hospital official announced, more than a week after a shooting at a congressional baseball team practice left the congressman and several others injured.”

Fox5DC: Deceased male found after northwest DC apartment fire “Residents of a northwest D.C. apartment building jumped from windows to escape a three-alarm fire early Saturday morning. Over 100 firefighters battled flames that engulfed the building in the 1300 block of Peabody Street NW, and the blaze left over 200 others without a place to live.”

Washington Post: Smoke billows from roof of D.C. hotel Saturday; guests evacuated “The Westin Hotel on Thomas Circle NW was temporarily evacuated Saturday evening after fire broke out in the kitchen and smoke billowed from the top of the building.”
