Secret Service officers searched McHugh’s vehicle and found two handguns and six rounds of ammunition. Officers with the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the scene and declared the vehicle safe. • A girl was found dead at a boarding school in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, according to officials. DC police said they were investigating at the SEED School of Washington D.C. after the 12-year-old girl was discovered to be dead at about 6:15 a.m. Investigators said they believed the girl’s death was a suicide and that no foul play was suspected at this time.

Fox5DC: Girl found dead in DC boarding school, officials say “A girl was found dead at a boarding school in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, according to officials. DC police said they were investigating at the SEED School of Washington D.C. after the 12-year-old girl was discovered to be dead at about 6:15 a.m. Investigators said they believed the girl’s death was a suicide and that no foul play was suspected at this time.”

Fox5DC: Police investigating alleged inappropriate touching by former staff member at DC charter school “Police are investigating allegations of possible sexual abuse inside a Northeast D.C. charter school. A police report says there could be as many as three victims. The Monument Academy Public Charter School is a weekday boarding school for fifth, sixth and seventh grade students. According to a parent, the allegations are focused on a former staffer. In a letter obtained by FOX 5, the CEO of the school, Emily Bloomfield, says a parent came forward on Sunday with allegations of alleged inappropriate touching by the former staffer who was dismissed on an unrelated matter in December. The letter goes on the say the alleged abuse took place in one of the student life homes.”

Fox5DC: Lawsuit: Former DC Lottery supervisor sexually harassed assistant “La’Prea Holton says the inappropriate behavior started almost immediately after she took a job as a staff assistant in sales at the D.C. Lottery. It started when her male supervisor, who FOX 5 is not naming because he hasn’t been charged with a crime, told her she couldn’t have her preferred size for a staff shirt because her breasts were too large. Holton says the comments about her breasts continued and got worse.”

NBC Washington: 3 Suspects Sought After DC Carjacking, Crash “Police in D.C. are searching for three suspects who stole a car in Northwest Washington before crashing it head-on into another vehicle in Southeast.”

Washington Post: Two ex-staffers plead guilty in release of explicit images of U.S. House member, husband “Two ex-aides pleaded guilty Tuesday to District and federal charges for circulating nude images and video of an elected representative to Congress and her husband to harm her reelection. Virgin Islands Del. Stacey Plaskett (D) last year confirmed she was the representative identified as “S.P.” in court papers, saying that in 2016, “my privacy was invaded, which was followed by an organized smear campaign and defamatory press reports concerning both me and my family.””

Washington Post: A fierce flu season pummels Washington region “A vicious strain of the flu is battering the Washington region, mirroring a wave of debilitating illness that in recent weeks has seized the entire United States, health officials say. With the number of cases across the country still rising, health officials in the District, Maryland and Virginia are reporting a surge in patients showing up at doctor’s offices and emergency rooms suffering from fever, severe headaches, muscle aches and nausea.”

Washington Post: Chief of D.C. secondary schools removed in Ballou High graduation scandal “The chief of D.C. secondary schools has been removed from her post, making her the highest-ranking official to be relieved of duties following an investigation into whether Ballou High School in Southeast Washington improperly graduated students. D.C. schools spokeswoman Kristina Saccone said officials placed Jane Spence, the secondary schools chief, on administrative leave, but she would not say if or when Spence would return to her job. Saccone would also not say when Spence was placed on leave.”
