After a man was stabbed early Monday morning in the Congress Heights neighborhood, DC Police are searching for a male suspect last seen wearing a black jacket. The victim was stabbed in the chest but is expected to survive. • Victor Purdie, 56, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, after he allegedly attacked Richard Lewis, 57, outside of Union Station. • Tawanna Williams has been described as missing and DC Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating her. She was last seen in the Kenilworth neighborhood.

WJLA: DC police search for man accused of stabbing another in the chest “Police are searching for a man who is accused of stabbing another man early Monday morning in Southeast Washington. According to police, the stabbing took place in the 3800 block of South Capitol Street around 1:30 a.m.”

Washington Post: Police arrest suspect in fatal beating of man outside Union Station “D.C. police have arrested a suspect in the fatal beating of a 57-year-old outside Union Station, less than a week after the victim’s brother made a public plea for help to find the attacker.”

NBC Washington: Missing Woman Was Last Seen a Week Ago, Police Say “Police in D.C. are searching for a woman who has been missing for a week. Tawanna Williams was last seen in the 4400 block of Douglas Street NE between 8:34 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. on Jan. 16.”

Washington Post: Four guns seized in downtown Washington early Sunday “It was about 4 a.m. Sunday, two days after Inauguration Day, and a day after the huge Women’s March on Washington when police were called to an address in the heart of downtown. They made, according to a D.C. police account, what seemed to be an unusual discovery.”

NBC Washington: DC Police Still Seeking Some Inauguration Day Vandals “Days after 235 people were charged with felony rioting on Inauguration Day, the D.C. police chief says arrests may be ongoing. The group was charged on Saturday after protesters smashed the windows of an emergency vehicle and several businesses, and set fire to a limousine. Six police officers were hurt, with one falling unconscious after he was hit in the head.”

WJLA: Over 200 protesters arrested, facing felony charges of rioting on Inauguration Day “More than 200 protesters were arrested and face charges of felony rioting on Inauguration Day last Friday. The final protester arrested on Inauguration Day appeared in Federal Court on Monday. 21-year-old George Herdeg is charged with aiming a laser pointer at a park police helicopter during the inaugural parade.”

Fox5DC: Interim DC police chief joins other law enforcement at White House to meet with Trump “Interim D.C. Police Chief Peter Newsham was part of the first group welcomed by President Donald Trump in his very first weekend in the White House. Trump has repeatedly said law enforcement was a top priority of his administration. Now, as president, he has backed that up with a meeting to thank the law enforcement officials who provided security during the inauguration.”
