WJLA: VIDEO: 2 people wanted for shooting death of man in Northeast D.C., police say “Two people are wanted for the shooting death of a 53-year-old man on Feb. 17 in Northeast Washington. Officers found Eric Linnair Wright with a gunshot wound in the 900 block of 12th Street, NE. Wright later died at an area hospital, according to police.”

Fox5DC: DC teacher arrested for alleged child sex abuse “The Washington Post reports that police say 35-year-old Manuel Garcia Fernandez, a teacher at the Latin American Montessori Bilingual Public Charter School, had sexual contact with two female victims and one male victim between Aug. 17 and Feb. 6. He has been charged with second-degree child sexual abuse.”

NBC Washington: Man Killed in Northeast DC Shooting Had Lengthy Criminal History “A man fatally shot during a shooting that injured two D.C. police officers had an extensive criminal history, court records showed. The shooting happened about 10:40 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of Holbrooke and Morse streets, Northeast, where police responded to an earlier report of shots fired, police said.”

Washington Post: Four armed late night robberies in Upper NW, nearby Montgomery “Three armed robberies were reported late Friday night in Upper Northwest Washington and a fourth in nearby Montgomery County, and D.C. police said they think that the same robbers carried out all of them.”

Washington Post: Police: Shooting that wounded officers, killed man, occurred in gunfire exchange “A D.C. police officer and a man he was pursuing exchanged gunfire Thursday night during a violent struggle in the Trinidad neighborhood, police said Friday, leaving the man dead and two officers wounded.”

Fox5DC: Newsham: Body-worn cameras captured shootings of 2 DC police officers “One of the two DC police officers shot in northeast Washington on Thursday night has been released from the hospital, Acting Police Chief Peter Newsham said Friday afternoon. Newsham also said both of the injured officers had their body-worn cameras on, and they captured video of the shootings.”
