A man was shot and killed yesterday in the Burrville neighborhood. A woman was also injured in the shooting, and her condition is unknown. No suspect information is available at this time. • Four people, including a 17-year-old girl, were injured in a shooting Tuesday night in the Congress Heights neighborhood. The victims were taken to a local hospital and none of the injuries appear to be life threatening. • After a fatal fire took the life of Awlachew Ayele, 66, last week in the Trinidad neighborhood, authorities have determined that the fire was intentionally set.

Washington: Gunshots fired into a crowd wound four, including a 17-year-old girl, in Southeast Washington “Four people, including a 17-year-old girl, were shot and wounded Tuesday night outside a strip of stores on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue in Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police. Authorities said none of the injuries appeared to be life threatening. The other victims were two men and a woman. All were taken to hospitals for treatment.”

Washington Post: Fatal fire in Trinidad neighborhood ruled intentionally set “A fatal fire at a home last week in Northeast Washington’s Trinidad neighborhood was intentionally set, according to the D.C. fire department. The body of Awlachew Ayele, 66, was found by firefighters after they extinguished Thursday’s early morning blaze in the 1100 block of Queen Street NE.”

WJLA: Police: Man dead after double shooting in Northeast D.C. “A man has died following a double shooting in Northeast D.C., police say. The shooting happened in the 900 block of Eastern Ave. NE at around 7:15 p.m.”

NBC Washington: Feds: IRS Lawyer Sold Meth Out of His DC Apartment “A lawyer for the IRS faces federal drug charges after officials say he sold methamphetamine out of his apartment in Washington, D.C. Jack Vitayanon, 41, was arrested after U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials said he conspired with people in Arizona and New York to sell the drug for several years.”

WUSA9: MISSING: 23-year-old D.C. woman “Metropolitan Police need the public’s help finding a 23-year-old woman who went missing from Northeast D.C. Niya Fox was last seen in the 2100 block of Morse Street in Northeast on Nov. 21, 2016.”

WUSA9: MISSING: 16-year-old girl from SE DC “Police need your help locating a missing 16-year-old girl from D.C. Faith Nelson was last seen in 3500 block of Minnesota Avenue in Southeast on Jan. 13.”

WJLA: Terrace Manor Apartments to be renovated, following OAG lawsuit “The few residents that are currently living at the Terrace Manor Apartments in Southeast D.C. tell ABC7 that change has been needed for a very long time. The property, which is mostly filled with boarded up apartments, still has a few residents despite years of persistent problems, which have been pointed out by the city.”
