Washington Post: Suspect charged in shooting of 17-year-old is ordered detained “A man charged with shooting a college-bound teenager in the head and gravely injuring her as she drove down a street in Northeast Washington was ordered detained on Saturday as his lawyer said her client denied direct involvement.”

Washington Post: Southeast Washington man identified as homicide victim in Lanham “Police have identified a man found fatally shot in Lanham on Friday as Troy Foster, 24, of Southeast Washington. Officers answering a call for a welfare check Friday found Foster lying along a footpath in the 7000 block of Palamar Turn at about 9:15 a.m., according to Prince George’s County police. Foster had gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Fox5DC: DC firefighter allegedly assaulted on call accused of being drunk on the job “A DC firefighter who was allegedly assaulted while responding to a call has been accused of being intoxicated while on the job, according to officials. DC Fire and EMS officials said the firefighter was responding to a call Sunday afternoon for a 3-year-old girl who suffered an injury after falling in the 200 block of 37th Street, SE.”

Washington Post: Man with swastika tattoo ordered out of D.C. pool center after confronted by lifeguards “A man with a tattoos that include a swastika, upside down crosses and “666” was escorted out of a public pool on Capitol Hill by police on Sunday after patrons objected to his presence and he became belligerent with a life guard, D.C. officials said.”

Washington Post: Dangerous mistakes led to shutdown of United Medical Center obstetrics ward “D.C. regulators ordered the only full-service hospital in Southeast Washington to stop delivering babies last week because of dangerous mistakes the hospital’s staff made with multiple pregnant women and newborns, a letter obtained by The Washington Post shows.”
