WASHINGTON, DC — Today, DC Police Union Chairman Bigelow released a statement acknowledging the passing of First District Officer Jamal Shaw today:
“It is with great sadness that I share the news that our colleague and friend, Officer Jamal Shaw, lost his life today in an accident in Prince George’s County, Maryland today.
“Officer Shaw was a three-year veteran of MPD. He was loved by his parents and family, and as our coworker he was well-liked as a jovial friend and respected officer. He will undoubtedly be missed.”
“I echo the Chief’s sentiments: let’s support one another through this loss. Should any one of you need anything, don’t hesitate to reach out to your colleagues or loved ones for support. You can also reach out to me at email@example.com . And know that as details about Officer Shaw’s memorial service become available I will be sure to share them with you.
