DC Crime Summary – June 9th - 15th, 2017
There were three homicides and several violent crimes reported in the District this week • Jason Antonio Dale, 33, was shot and killed Monday night in the Congress Heights neighborhood. No suspect information is available at this time, and authorities are actively investigating the incident. • Dominic Brooks, 29, was fatally stabbed early Friday morning near Hendley Elementary School in Southeast. No suspect information is available at this time, and authorities are actively investigating the incident. • Julius Leroy Foreman, 28, was fatally shot early Wednesday morning in the hallway of an apartment building located in the Burrville neighborhood. No suspect information is available at this time, and authorities are actively investigating the incident. • Congressman Steve Scalise and others are in critical condition after they were injured in a shooting while playing baseball in Alexandria. • After two DC Police Officers and a third man were struck by a vehicle in Adams Morgan on Thursday night, the driver is being charged with assault with the intent to kill and the possession of an illegal firearm among other charges. DC Police Officers have created a GoFundMe page to support the officers who were injured in the attack.

Washington Post: Man fatally shot in Northeast D.C. “A man was shot in Northeast Washington early Wednesday, police said. At around 12:15 a.m., officers responded to the 5800 block of Fields Place NE for the report of a shooting, D.C. police said in a statement.”
Washington Post: Man fatally shot in Congress Heights in Southeast Washington “A 33-year-old man was shot and killed Monday night in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Southeast Washington, according to D.C. police. The victim was identified as Jason Antonio Dale, who lived less than a half-mile from the shooting scene in an alley in the 500 block of Parkland Place SE.”

Hodgkinson is killed by police “A man angry with President Trump unleashed a barrage of gunfire Wednesday morning at Republican members of Congress as they held a baseball practice at a park in Alexandria, wounding House Majority Whip Steve Scalise and four others in a frenzied scene that included a long gun battle with police.”
Washington Post: After shooting, investigators probe trail of political anger left by attacker “The day before he turned a semiautomatic rifle on congressional Republican baseball players and was fatally shot in a firefight with police, James T. Hodgkinson went on a profane rant against President Trump at a nearby garage.”

NBC Washington: Adams Morgan Bars Raise Money for Officers, DDOT Worker Hit by Truck “At least a dozen bars and restaurants in Adams Morgan raised money Thursday for two D.C. police officers and a Department of Transportation worker who are recovering after a man driving a pickup truck plowed into them in the Northwest neighborhood.”
